i should really stop saying that nothing happened.

At the risk of repeating myself, "the last week was relatively uneventful," is quite literally the first thought in my head as I think about recounting the happenings of the last week or so. Often I'll go back to the last blog entry and think, "Well, that did happen, didn't it? Seems so long ago".

And yet, as I toil away to fulfill the contract of my indentured servitude, otherwise kindly known as my "job," the days go by relatively quickly.

I have a few time sinks. I was about to call them "sins", but as far as bad habits go, these are pretty vanilla:

  • browsing Reddit and Instagram
  • watching youtube videos

At the beginning of this year, I had mitigated these habits pretty well, but I've been slipping recently.

My space is back to being set up and crowded. Eh, not really. A few weeks ago, some repair crews came in to fix the windows. I had placed my retro gaming setup in front of the window, so I pretty much had to clear a ton of stuff. Those Cathode Ray Tubes were not light.

So I re-organized a little, and ended up gaining a little more space - and again realized that I need to put some junk into storage.

The monitors aren't in place, so I set out my Neo Geo consoles in the meantime. The sad view of the adjacent building never gets old.

So in the past week or so, I've gone back and forth between various games. I was playing The Last Guardian for a little while, but I put it down for a bit. I started again playing Divinity: Original Sin - it's been entertaining, but I also felt that way about The Last Guardian, so we'll see how long I last.

One neat thing about Divinity is the ability to create characters, which I always enjoy -- especially if I can make a team like in XCom 2.

Divinity is kind of neat because you create a pair of characters. So I created a character after myself. For my partner, I modeled her after my current celebrity crush, Sakurai Reika:

As for the game itself, it's kind of hard. But I think it's because I try to play too honestly. The only way I've been able to make progress is by stealing items and breaking into people's rooms. And I've ended up killing people in the game that I had no intention of killing.

Such is life ¯\(ツ)/¯. Errr, death.

What's funnier is that my partner in the game, Reika, is so goody-good with morals and stuff. So she's always calling me out when doing bad things.

I wonder if there's a "clean" way of going about this game.
