so, I got stood up.

On the one hand, I'm disappointed. On the other hand, something different happened in my life. So that's a positive thing, I suppose.
I haven't written a blog post in quite some time, and I'm thinking that I should pick up the habit again. So many things have happend in the last few months, but what prompted me to write again: I set up a first date with a girl. And she stood me up. Yeah.
I'm not sure what to think yet, so I'll just lay out the sequence of events.
- I started with this girl on Coffee Meets Bagel.
- it seems like we had a lot in common. We exchange messages for about a week or so.
- I suggest that we meet, and we arrange a time to continue our chat in person.
- naturally, I'm equal parts nervous, and excited about the prospect of dating again.
I literally haven't been on a date since 2011.
That being said, I still haven't been on a date since 2001.
Anyway, continuing on:
- we decided to meet in South Bay.
- I take the train down. Altogether, it took about an hour.
- I arrived early, and I decided to go site in a nearby park for a little bit.
- we had decided to meet a nearby cafe, so I head there, order and sit down.
- I text her and say, "Hey, I'm here!"
And....
her: "I'm so sorry - I actually had something come up with work"
me: "Sorry to hear! Let's meet another time?"
her: "yes, sorry!"
me: "good luck with work!"
So that's what happened. Now, on to my thoughts: I really don't know what to think honestly.
- I'm a little disappointed. Feelings of self-doubt creeping in.
- that being said, I understand work happens.
- I wish she had let me know before-hand.
I'll just leave it at that. Everything will be alright, I think
